As a primary school in the heart of Forest Hill and Sydenham we have very close links with our local community. Please see below for more information.
Albion Millennium Green
Our headteacher is a trustee for the Albion Millennium Green and our pupils use this on a regular basis. We have also taken part in productions on this land.
Once a year we support this through drama, dance and song. Our pupils have performed in ‘The wind in the willows’ and ‘The jungle book’ productions. We have also sung as part of the ‘Man digs a hole’ project. We also participated in the World War One memorial event this year.
We participate in several events at the Catford Broadway each year. These include the Holocaust Memorial Event and the Lewisham Dance Showcase.
We are really thankful to Sydenham Gardens for helping us set up our school community garden. Their links to the Chelsea Flower Show have been really useful. We have supported Sydenham Gardens by performing at the ‘Edible High Road’ opening event two years in a row.
Any pupil who achieves 100% attendance and punctuality in a term gets taken to ‘Canvas and Cream’ for a special treat. Thank you to the staff there who are always so kind and helpful.
Dartmouth Road shops
There is a real feel of community along Dartmouth Road and it is great to be part of this group. The community of shopkeepers and friends loved dancing along with us at our Pentecost Carnival last year.
Forest Hill Library
This is used each week by our classes. Reception attend the story and song session every week and our other classes take it in turns to visit the library during our Monday morning slot. It is fantastic having such a resource on our doorstep.
Y3 and Y5 swim every week throughout the year. Again, we are privileged to have this facility right next door to our school.
Each year we are asked to sing at a local care home. Our pupils really enjoy it and the residents have great fun joining in with them.
