Holy Trinity enjoyed a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading on Thursday 2nd March. It is the 20th year of World Book Day and it is marked in over 100 countries all over the world. We had a fabulous day exploring the pleasure of books and dressing up.
We were very lucky to have a visit from the author ‘Gracie Wright’ in Key Stage 1 last week. She came and shared her 3 books and talked about being an author.
What a lovely treat to end the term! We had a wonderful day starting with an assembly. Children sang songs together in French and we had a brief introduction to countries in the world that speak French. We shared a French breakfast together in our classes and listened to some stories in French.

Year 2 performed wonderfully in their Class Assembly all about dinosaurs. We learnt a great deal, including an alphabet of dinosaur names and we heard some fantastic poems written by the children.
Our Head Boy and Head Girl for this term are Shaquahn and Joanne. The Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl are Akinyele and Asia.
Bible Club performed fantastically in assembly on Monday. They sang some lovely songs and recited some verses from the Bible.
Butterfly Class performed beautifully in their Class Assembly this morning. We saw some examples of counting, some lovely pictures and writing and they spoke very clearly. Well done Reception for telling us the story of Owl Babies and acting it out.
Safer Internet Day is on Tuesday 7th February 2017. As well as learning about keeping safe on the internet in our classes, we will also be holding a workshop for parents to come and find out about how to keep children safe on the internet.
